Calling All 23andMe Saliva Spitting Bloggers!

23andMe

Well I'm trying to decode my DNA by Christmas as you might know by an earlier post appropriately titled "Help Me Decode My Genome by Christmas".

I'll be using the 23andMe Personal Genome Service. I'm raising donations to pay for their service and I've raised about $300 so far! You can track my fundraising efforts here.

Be awesome and please donate! 1000 raised!

I'll be blogging my whole experience. :)

Over the past week I've been corresponding with bloggers from excellent genetics and health blogs like The Genetic Genealogist, Genetics and Health and Eye on DNA. They each have highly informative blogs that provide very entertaining genetics reading. Go read them now.

I haven't come across too many bloggers that are decoding their genomes using services like 23andMe and blogging their experiences. The only bloggers I've come across so far that are also using 23andMe are Mike at TechCrunch with Step 1 and Step 2, Mark Fletcher of Wingedpig.com, and Lara at LaunchSquad.

I'm putting an official rally call out to any other bloggers who are using or are planning to use a genome service like 23andMe. I want to know who you guys are so we can check in with each other and share our experiences.

Feel free to send me emails at andrew@buzzyeah.com.

Update: Kevin Kelly over at his The Quantified Self blog is planning to take both the 23andMe and deCODEme tests. He says he will keep us updated with his experiences.
