My Top Ten Keywords is Bad News for the NBA
Here are my top ten keywords for the past three months:
1. buzzyeah
2. nba stream
3. streaming nba games
4. nba streams
5. live nba streaming
6. basketball games online
7. nba games online
8. nba streaming
9. live basketball games
10. stream nba games online
Nine of my top ten keywords are people searching for streaming/online NBA games. Which is something they won't find on my blog. Or pretty much anywhere for that matter.
Streaming NBA games are noticeably absent and/or extremely hard to find on the Internet. This is bad news for the NBA (and ESPN and TNT).
Why? Because tons of people search for NBA games and they come up finding nothing. There is huge demand out there and its not being quenched (Hey NBA, look at all the shows the big networks are putting online for free!).
Even sadder, look at my visitor bounce rates for these same top ten keywords:
1. 48.00%
2. 80.95
3. 86.36
4. 88.46
5. 86.96
6. 89.47
7. 78.95
8. 78.95
9. 72.22
10. 72.22
The bounce rates speak for themselves. Most searchers who follow the Google results to my blog are disappointed and usually eject from my blog quickly.
I never intended for the few posts that I've written about streaming NBA games online to turn into teasing Google bait and disappoint search engine visitors. In fact, like two months ago I tried to neuter the posts so that they wouldn't attract so many disappointed searchers.
Most of the posts are me ranting that ESPN/TNT/NBA should put live NBA games online. Look over at the "Popular Pages Today" widget on the right sidebar for a couple of these posts.
I wish Google would post trends for the most disappointing web searches for the year. I'm sure a variation on "streaming/online nba games" would rank high on the list.
